Masters of the Universe Reportedly Hits Digital July 21

The power of Grayskull is coming home sooner than some fans may have expected.
According to a new report from He-Man.org, via Maxblizz, the 2026 Masters of the Universe movie is set to arrive on Digital HD platforms on July 21, 2026. That means fans who either missed the theatrical run or simply want to watch He-Man, Skeletor, Teela, Man-At-Arms, and the rest of Eternia from the comfort of their couch may not have to wait much longer.
The report states that the film will be available to buy or rent digitally through platforms including Prime Video, iTunes, Vudu, and Google Play Movies. That places the movie’s home release roughly seven weeks after its June 5 theatrical debut, which fits the modern premium video-on-demand window used by many major studio releases.
For longtime Masters of the Universe fans, this is big news. The franchise has always lived in more than one space at a time. It was a toy line, a cartoon, a comic, a movie, a mythology, and for many of us, a full-blown childhood religion built out of plastic swords, skull-faced villains, and Saturday morning imagination. Getting the new movie into homes quickly gives fans a chance to rewatch it, dissect it, argue over it, and hopefully appreciate the parts that bring Eternia back to life.
The new film, directed by Travis Knight, stars Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man, with Jared Leto as Skeletor and Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms. Amazon MGM Studios’ official page lists the movie as opening exclusively in theaters on June 5, 2026. While that official page has not yet fully updated with the reported July 21 digital date, both He-Man.org and Maxblizz are now pointing to that date for the film’s PVOD release.
What is important to note is that this does not necessarily mean the movie will be free to stream on Prime Video that same day. The report points to a buy-or-rent digital release first, with the full streaming debut on Prime Video expected later. That means July 21 should be viewed as the date fans can purchase or rent the movie digitally, not necessarily the date it becomes part of a standard Prime subscription.
Still, for fans of Eternia, this is a win. Whether you grew up with the original Filmation cartoon, collected the vintage figures, watched the 1987 movie until the VHS wore out, or came into the franchise through newer versions, Masters of the Universe returning to living rooms feels right. This property was built on replay value. It was built on imagination. It was built on kids watching He-Man raise the Power Sword and believing, even for a few minutes, that good could still stand against impossible evil.
On July 21, fans may get the chance to bring that battle home once again.
